While utilities are cut off, securing “ONSUI (Hot Water)” is of key importance in preparing food. Also, as fire is a danger in disaster-stricken areas, it is necessary to have a means of obtaining “ONSUI” without using flame. For effortless preparation for emergency situations, designer Kiyoe Hamada proposed an emergency tool that can also fit into everyday life. By fitting heat generation cartridges that use heat from the hydration of water and quicklime (calcium oxide), water can be boiled. This can also be used as a drink container for everyday use.
