Silhouette And Eclipse Lamps by Angela Jansen
Angela Jansen, a Design Academy Eindhoven graduate in collaboration with Ger Jansen, a mechanical and electrical engineer have created a pair of LED table lamps with built-in levitation technology for their brand Light-Light.
“The Silhouette lamp’s design is based on the iconic table lamp, and contrasts ultramodern technology with an almost antique appearance.
The lamp consists out of a handcrafted wooden base with a high glossy black finish. Attached is a stylish black fabric covered power cable.
What makes this lamp floating is the integrated levitation technology. It consist out of electromagnetic components and a sophisticated control system. Next to the fact that they employ the very latest LED technology, the lamp is low in power consumption too. With a touch of your fingertip, the lamp can be dimmed to the intensity you require.
The second lamp is called Eclipse, it is designed with the focus on modernism. It consists of a hand-crafted glass foot which seems to sprout from the bottom, supporting the straight sided lampshade. The smooth curving shape gives the lamp a highly elegant composure
The lamp has a transparent glass base. Thus you can see the fabric covered power cord running inside. The drum shaped lampshade can be featured in matt black or reflective silver finishes. Both have a pearl white inner side furnishing. The lower part of the lampshade is topped with a mirror, through its openings the light flows outside. At the bottom of the lower part, there’s the fingertip light switch.”
