Highstack Cabinet & Lowstack Chair by ALLT

Peter Simonik and Elena Bolcekova of Slovak design studio ALLT have created the Highstack cabinet and Lowstack chair.
“The structure used industrially when stacking unfinished wood planks is to avoid degradation and allow better manipulation. Random profiles and airiness which can be found in the industrial context of sawmills and warehouses is brought closer to show its qualities in more familiar environments. By cutting out spaces an object is created and its function is transformed by adding or removing stacked material.”
