Skyphos Chandelier by Kateřina Smolíková
Czech designer Kateřina Smolíková has received the Outstanding Student Design Award for the Skyphos Chandelier project.
“Chandelier is inspired by deep water bioluminiscence living organisms, designed to darker areas, primarily as an orientation light.In the dark waters, there is an integral part of the deep sea organisms to 98 percent energy conversion to light. It is now duty to assimilate to this performance, a light source LED diode system is therefore used, which offers one of the most economical and very durable sources of light in the market. The design is inspired by the shapes of jellyfish, which is supported not only by diode LED light, but also by the actual name of the chandelier.
